Israel's Security: Why Does It Concern Everyone?

The Land of Israel is the place about which it is said that "the eyes of the Creator are upon it from the beginning of the year to the end of the year." This is not merely a geographical territory — it is the spiritual center of the entire world, the point where heaven meets earth. The Rebbe repeatedly emphasized that the spiritual state of every Jew, wherever they may be, directly affects the safety of those living in the Holy Land. Any good deed performed even thousands of miles from Israel creates a spiritual shield for the country's inhabitants. The Jewish people are like a single organism: when a finger hurts, the whole body suffers; when one part is strengthened, the whole becomes healthier.

The Rebbe urged people not to limit themselves to reading news and discussing politics, but to strengthen their personal connection with tradition — lighting Shabbat candles, putting on tefillin, giving tzedakah, and studying Torah. It is precisely these actions that create the most powerful spiritual shield for the entire country. G-d gave His people the Torah and commandments as the foundation of survival — and when we observe the Creator's laws, we are not merely performing rituals but building an invisible fortress that protects every Jew. You do not need to be a general to defend Israel — it is enough to be a Jew who lives according to the Torah and inspires others by personal example.
