סחיטת השמיים: למה לדרוש ערבויות מה' זו חוצפה

Many people say: "I'll start fully helping others or work on my spiritual development as soon as I'm confident about my financial future." In the sources, such people are called "the sect of pledge holders."

The "Advance Payment" Trap

From the perspective of trust, such behavior is like an impudent worker who demands the full salary from the master before even starting duties. It looks absurd: a person is already using the "credit" of life, health, and air for which they haven't yet repaid with good deeds, yet demands from the Creator a "pledge" in the form of wealth just to start behaving decently.

The Infinite Debt

In reality, if you add up all the good deeds of humanity throughout history, they wouldn't be enough to pay for even one act of kindness the Creator bestows upon us daily. Demanding material guarantees from the One to Whom you are already infinitely indebted is not just foolishness, but the highest degree of spiritual shortsightedness. True trust is the understanding that God gives "manna" for exactly today, so that you remain connected to Him constantly.
