Благодійність як борг: чому ваша «добра справа» — це просто сплата податків

Most people who engage in charity feel like heroes and expect special recognition. However, the sources assert: a wealthy person is not an owner, but merely a "fund distribution manager" for the Creator.

The Illusion of Generosity

The very word "tzedakah" (charity) comes from the root "tzedek," meaning "justice" or "righteousness." Giving money to the needy is not an act of mercy, but payment of a debt. It is believed that God "deposits" funds with a wealthy person so they can pass them on as intended; therefore, the giver should be grateful to God for being chosen as a "channel" (funnel) for good, rather than demanding gratitude from the poor.

The Recognition Trap

If a person seeks honor for their generosity, they "contaminate" the deed and may lose their heavenly reward. Moreover, if a person holds onto surpluses intended for others, they become a "dishonest custodian" who appropriates someone else's property, which ultimately leads to the loss of all capital.
