Тішрей: Видіння Машіаха та спадщина родини Ребе

Діалог із Машіахом, подвиг ребецн Хани та девіз Маараша

The Vision of the Baal Shem Tov (1 Tishrei 1746)

On Rosh Hashanah 5507 (1746), an event occurred that determined the destiny of the entire Jewish people. The soul of the Baal Shem Tov ascended to the highest realms — and he stood before Mashiach. The Besht asked the question that burned in his heart: "When will the Master come?" Mashiach answered with words that became the program of Chassidism for centuries to come: "When your springs spread outward." This meant that the coming of Mashiach is directly linked to the dissemination of the teachings of Chassidism throughout the world. The Baal Shem Tov described this vision in his famous letter, which became one of the most important documents of the Chassidic tradition. Since then, every generation of Chabad Rebbes has seen its mission in fulfilling this Divine condition.

The Heroism of Rebbetzin Chana (6 Tishrei 1964)

On the 6th of Tishrei 5725 (1964), Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson passed away — the mother of the Seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, a woman of incredible strength of spirit and devotion to the Torah. Her greatest act of heroism took place during the years of Soviet repression: when her husband, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak, was exiled to Kazakhstan, she followed him. In exile, there was no ink — so Rebbetzin Chana gathered berries and herbs to make ink with her own hands for her husband. Thanks to this, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak was able to continue writing his most profound commentaries on the Torah and Kabbalah. These manuscripts were saved and have survived to this day — a living testimony to the heroism of a woman who preserved Divine wisdom under the most inhumane conditions.

The Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe Maharash (13 Tishrei 1882)

On the 13th of Tishrei 5643 (1882), the Rebbe Maharash — Rabbi Shmuel, the Fourth Lubavitcher Rebbe — departed this world. He lived only 48 years, but left a legacy disproportionate to such a short life. His motto "Lechatchila Ariber" — "From the outset, go over" — became one of the central principles of Chabad Chassidism. The meaning of these words is that one should not first try to go around an obstacle from below, and only then — if that fails — try to leap over it. One should leap over from the very start! The Rebbe Maharash created the system of hemshechim — long series of maamarim (Chassidic discourses) revealing the deepest secrets of the Torah. His approach combined fearlessness in the service of G-d with a depth of thought that became a model for subsequent generations.
