(Adapted from Chabad.org) 2 There is a Possuk‫ א‬in this week’s Parsha‫ ב‬that reads: ‫“ וְנִ קְ דַּ שְ תִ י בְ תֹוְך בְ נֵי יִשְ ָראֵ ל ּגֹו׳‬I shall be sanctified amidst the B’nei Yisroel…” In Likkutei Torah‫( ג‬The Chassidishe Parsha‫ )ד‬at the Beginning of our Parsha The Alter Rebbe‫ ה‬highlights ‫ א‬There is a Possuk: Vayikroh (Emor Devorim, Shir Hashirim, Yomim 22:32) ‫וְלא תְ חַּ לְ לּו אֶ ת שֵ ם קָ ְדשִ י‬ Tovim, Rosh Hashana and Yom ‫וְנִ קְ דַּ שְ תִ י בְ תֹוְך בְ נֵי יִשְ רָ אֵ ל אֲנִ י ה׳ מְ קַּ ִדשְ כֶם‬ Kippur “You shall not desecrate My Holy ‫ ד‬The Chassidishe Parsha: The Name. Alter Rebbe’s brother amongst Everyone should learn the others, most of them from 5556 Maamorim for the Parsha of the (1796) through the end of 5572 week.” ‫תורת מנחם ש״פ וישב‬, ‫תשט״ו‬ (1812), covering the books of ‫ ה‬The Alter Rebbe: Rabbi Shneur Bereishis and Shmos, with several Zalman of Liadi, founder and first Maamorim on Shavuos and Rebbe of Chabad, 1745-1813. And then drawn down even further‫ לו‬below into the fourth state that of ‘Boruch K’vod HaShem Mimkomo’.‫לז‬ We see a similar idea regarding the sanctity of the Yomim Tovim‫( לח‬as mentioned in our Parsha).‫לט‬ Regarding Shabbos‫ מ‬as in ‘Shabbos Koidesh’‫ מא‬which is ’Koidesh-the-noun’, a person’s Avodah is to draw that aspect of Koidesh [all the way] down.‫ מב‬It is for this ‫ לד‬Drawn Down: And revealed. Amongst them‫ ו‬the Alter Rebbe asks: what is the significance of the word ‫ ז בְ תֹוְך‬which we translated as ‘Amidst’, as in ‘Amidst the B’nei Yisroel?’‫ח‬ Furthermore‫ ט‬regarding the Mitzvah of Nozir‫ י‬the Torah says:‫“ קָ דש יִהְ יֶה ּגַּדֵ ל פֶ ַּרע שְ עַּ ר ראשֹו יא‬it shall be sacred, and he shall allow the growth of the hair of his head to grow wild”. Possuk refers to the ultimate ‫ יא‬Torah says: Bamidbor (6:5) ‫כָּל‬ Mesiras Nefesh of giving up one’s ‫יְמֵ י נֶדֶ ר נִ זְ רֹו תַּ עַּ ר ל ֹא יַּעֲ בֹר עַּ ל ר ֹאׁשֹו עַּ ד‬ life to sanctify HaShem’s name ‫מְ ל ֹאת הַּ יָּמִ ם אֲ ׁשֶ ר יַּזִ יר לַּ ה׳ קָּ דֹׁש יִהְ יֶה‬ then once a person has allowed ‫“ גַּדֵ ל פֶ ַּרע שְ עַּ ר ר ֹאׁשֹ
