Divrei Shaagasi — [04.05] Korach - Fighting the Good Fight 5783

Выпуск: Divrei Shaagasi — [04.05] Korach - Fighting the Good Fight 5783. Темы: parsha_commentary. Поисковые термины: недельная глава, парша, parsha, פרשה, פרשת השבוע. Since Rashi states: “‫וַ אֲ נִי ֹלא בָאתִ י‬ ‫ אֶ לָּא לִ פְשׁוּטוֹ שֶׁל מִ קְרָ א‬- but I have come only [to teach] the simple meaning of the Scripture…”[2] why, specifically here, does Rashi suddenly change his usual method of just clarifying the simple understanding of the pasuk and state how beautiful this parsha is explained and expounded upon? Statement: On the opening words of this week’s Parasha of ‫וַ יִּקַּח ק ַֹרח‬, Rashi begins his comment by saying: ‫ פַּרְ שָׁה זוֹ‬This Parsha ‫ יָפֶה נִדְ רֶ שֶׁת‬is beautifully expounded upon ‫ בְּ מִדְ רַ שׁ רַ בִּי תַּ נְחוּמָא‬in the Midrash of R. In a letter penned by the Alter Rebbe, he quotes Rashi, saying, “‫ אֵין ׁשָלֹום יֹוצֵא מִּתֹוְך מְרִ יבָה‬- No peace comes out of arguments…”,[8] “and this specifically refers to arguments that people say are for the ‘sake of heaven’, may Hashem save us from these controversies.”[9] When Pirkei Avos says, “‫ סֹופָּה לְ הִתְ קַ ּי ֵם‬,‫ ּכָל מַ חֲ לֹֽוקֶת ׁשֶ הִיא לְ ׁשֵם ׁשָמַ ֽי ִם‬- Any dispute that is for the sake of Heaven is destined to endure”[10] can be interpreted as something undesirable, since no one wants to see a dispute endure. It is even possible to equate someone promoting a personal spiritual war as transgressing the commandment of ‫ֹלא תִ שָּׂא‬ ‫ אֶת־שֵׁם־הַ שֵׁם אֱ־ֹלקֶיָך לַ שָּׁ וְא‬- Do not take the name of HaShem in vain.”[13] Using HaShem’s name as a way of promoting a ‫ מַ חֲֹלקֶת‬is the ultimate “desecration of the Name” (Chillul HaShem) and is certainly in vain. So, if one wants to merit ‫ אֲרִ יכוּת יָמִים‬- longevity and peace, one would be wise to distance oneself from controversy altogether, even when it seems that it is for the “sake of heaven.” If you want to fight the good fight, first make sure that it’s good. However, if one is only passionate while involved in a dispute, that's an indication that he's being influenced by the Yetzer Hara and not the Yetzer Tov.[12] The Imrei Noam taught that the worst sins can be committed when one thinks he's spiritually motivated. As a matter of fact, according to Kabbalah, Kayin was later reincarnated into Korach and Hevel into Moshe Rabbeinu.[6] A hint to this relationship can be seen in the Gematria of the name ‫ ק ַֹרח‬which is 308 and the Gematria
