SPECIAL RITUALS OF HOSHAAN A RABBAH There are several aspects that set Hoshaana Rabbah 1 apart from the other days of Sukkos, among them: a) Throughout Sukkos, the altar was circled2 just once each day, whereas onHoshaana Rabbah, it was circled seven times.3 b) Throughout the festival, the ritual of standing the willow branches upright at the sides of the altar 4 took place only on weekdays.
