R’ Asher then told the following story of the Ruzhiner (R’ Yisroel of Ruzhin): The Ruzhiner had a Chassid who was very attached and devoted to his Rebbe; and every once in a while, a strong desire to go and travel to his Rebbe would consume this Chassid. B"H ‫ספורי‬ THE RUZHINER AND THE MOSUR ‫חסידים‬ As told by R’ David Abba Zalmanov: R’ Asher Sossonko A’H and R’ Mendel Futerfas A’H would farbreng together every year on the first night of Sukkos, in R’ Berel Dubrawsky’s Sukkah. One such time, it was Erev Yom Kippur, and the Chassid got this urgent feeling that he needed to see his Rebbe right away, so he got his horse and buggy out and traveled straight to the Ruzhiner. R’ Mendel looked around and replied, “Not yet.” A little while later, R’ Asher asked again and R’ Mendel looked around the Sukkah once more and then said that now he could tell the story. There is a certain Mosur (one who snitches to the government on other Jews) in town, and you should know that I love him even more than you love me. The Gabbai looked at him like he was crazy and told him that on a busy day like Erev Yom Kippur, there was no way he could get a Yechidus. When this would happen the Chassid would immediately travel to the Ruzhiner, no matter what the time was or what he was doing. One year, around 1:00 a.m., R’ Asher asked R’ Mendel for permission to tell THE story to the people gathered there. Imagine then, how much the Aibershter loves every single Jew?!” ‫לע"נ הרה"ת ר' יוסף יצחק ב"ר אשר ז"ל‬ He would see his Rebbe for a few short moments, get his inspiration, and then travel back home, satisfied.
