In contrast, if a person declared, “This object shall be pro- hibited unto me like the flesh of a swine,” his vow is mean- 2 ‫תוטמ‬ ‫ספר במדב ר‬ ingless.1 This is because the flesh of the swine is inherently non-kosher and prohibited by G-d—not due to its consecra- tion by any individual.
