Reb Chaim-Dov became very angry and shouted, "Sheigetz!" To this, the Rebbe remarked, "Simple faith lights up the eyes; greatness is given to certain individuals only for the good of the Jewish people."4 1 Reb Chaim Dov served as the Tzemach Tzedek's gabbai-attendant for 36 years.
