In‬שופטים ושוטרים תתן לך“ ‪This weeks Parsha begins with the words‬‬ ‫‪ - I will restore your judges as they were at first and‬ואשיבה שופטיך כבראשונה ויועציך כבתחילה“ ‪the Nevuah of Yeshaya, however, it says‬‬ ‫‪your advisors as they were in the beginning”, omitting “officers” and adding “advisors” in their place.‬‬ ‫‪The Rebbe infers from this that officers are not an independent requirement, rather they complete the job of the judge when necessary.‬‬ ‫‪When the judges are unable to implement their ruling, due to the lack of cooperation on part of the accused party, the officers compel them‬‬ ‫‪to conform by striking and binding them with sticks and whips. In an ideal situation where people readily obey the ruling of the judge,‬‬ ‫‪the officers remain redundant and the advisors take their place explaining how this ruling is for their good and that it is of their interest to‬‬ ‫‪comply (see our Moshiach in the Parsha section).‬‬ ‫‪If this was true in all generations (as noticeable in the Minhag Yisroel to call the Parsha by the name Shoftim alone without Shotrim), how‬‬ ‫‪much more so in our generation when we stand so close to the Geulah so-much-so that various aspects of the Geulah have already started‬‬ ‫‪in the last days of Golus.‬‬ ‫‪ as well, which aside for the extra certainty this provides, this also associates‬נביא הדור ‪ is the‬נשיא הדור ‪, the‬יועץ ‪ and‬שופט ‪In addition to being a‬‬ ‫‪more to the physicality of this world, as we find by all the prophecies in Tanach that they were connected to a physical scene or action.‬‬ ‫‪ of our generation‬נביא ‪ and‬יועץ‪ ,‬שופט ‪This then is the lesson we take from Parshas Shoftim, to publicise that there is someone who is the‬‬ ‫‪and it is the obligation of every Yid to follow his rulings and teachings until they take control of all seven gates of his body (2 eyes, 2 ears,‬‬ ‫‪.‬בכל שעריך ‪2 nostrils and mouth) as the Shaloh explains on the words‬‬ ‫און דערפאר מרעד'ט און מ'מאנט וועגען דעם – אז די שופטים – וואס דאס איז דאך "שמו אשר יקראו לו בלשון‬ ‫דער ענין פון א שופט איז "דיינין הפוסקין את הדין"‪,‬‬ ‫אנטקעגן דער ענין פון א שוטר וואס זיין ענין איז כופה גאולה האמיתית והשלימה דארף קומען תיכף ומיד ממש‪ ,‬הקודש" ‪ -‬נאר "שופטים"‪ָ ,‬אן "שוטרים"‪ ,‬וואס דאס איז‬ ‫זיין דער מענטש צו
