For additional sponsorship opportunities, or questions on the project, email me at lessonsinlikutaytorah@gmail.com 3 LESSONS IN TORAH OR Torah Or ‫ּתוֹ ָרה אוֹ ר‬ ‫מַ אֲ מָ ר‬ ַׁ 1ַׁ‫מיִ םַׁרבִ יםַׁלֹאַׁיוכְ לוַׁלְ כבוֹ ת‬ ‫ג‬,‫פָרָ שַ ת נֹחַ ַדף ח‬ “Spiritual Elevation from Refining Materialism” In Parshas Noach the Torah describes the great flood that destroyed all human and animal life except for Noach, his family, and the animals in the Ark (Teiva) that were with him. ,‫ ב' פְׁ עָ מִּ ים‬10 " ַ‫ "נֹחַ נֹח‬:‫ומַ ה שֶ כָתוב‬ The fact that the name Noach is mentioned twice in the first verse of the parsha is coming to hint to two levels of “rest” on Shabbos, ,11 "‫הֵּ ם " נַיְׁיחָ א ְׁדעִּ ילָאֵּ י וְׁ נַיְׁיחָ א ְׁדתַ תָ אֵּ י‬ these two mentions of Noach correspond to “rest of those Above and rest of those below12”, ‫שֶ הוא בְׁ חִּ ינַת שַ בָ ת־ תַ תָ אָ ה וְׁ שַ בָ ת־עִּ ילָאָ ה‬ which represent the “Lower level of ֹ‫ שֶ נִּקְׁ ָרא "יוֹם שֶ כול ו‬,‫שֶ יִּהְׁ יֶה לֶ עָ תִּ יד‬ Shabbos” and the “Higher level of Shabbos” which will be experienced .13 "‫שַ בָ ת‬ in the Future era of Redemption, which is called (in the Mishna, end of Tamid): “the day which is completely Shabbos and rest for eternal life”, ,‫מַ ה שֶ אֵּ ין כֵּן שַ בָ ת־ תַ תָ אָ ה אֵּ ינוֹ כולוֹ שַ בָ ת‬ which is not the case with the .‫כַ אֲ שֶ ר יִּתְׁ בָ אֵּ ר‬ “Lower level of Shabbos” which is not “completely Shabbos”, as will be further explained in this maamar.
