The Alter Rebbe explains that this belief must be felt to the extent that there is no difference to a person when they experience “good” or when they experience “not-good” (challenges) in life. In yechidus, the Tzemach Tzedek told the heavy-hearted Chassid that the Alter Rebbe had written a letter in Igeres Hakodesh, titled L’Haskilcha Bina, just for such problems. In the letter, L’Haskilcha Bina, the Alter Rebbe writes that each person must fully and unequivocally believe that everything Hashem does is good. This Chassid had lost all his money and was heavily in debt and desperately needed a bracha from the Rebbe. The person should know and feel that it is all good, simply because it is from Hashem! The Rebbe blessed the man, and he eventually became wealthy again.
