(The above is mostly based on some divrei chizuk given by R’ Naftoli Kopshitz) Insights Into Halachah The Mitzvah to Have Additional Children Although the mitzvah of peru urevu is mentioned in last week’s parsha, according to some Rishonim the mitzvah is actually found in this week’s parsha in the pasuk: ‫“ – ואתם פרו ורבו שרצו בארץ ורבו בה‬And you shall be fruitful and multiply, swarm the land and fill it” (Bereishis 9:7), and the pasuk in last week’s sedra: ‫ויברך אותם אלקים‬ ‫“ – ויאמר להם אלוקים פרו ורבו‬And G-d blessed them, and said to them ‘be fruitful and multiply’” (Bereishis 1:28) was a blessing and not a commandment (see Ramban, on this week’s parsha). ‫בס״ד‬ ‫למודי משה‬ ‫ גליון קצ״א‬- ‫נח‬ Words of Encouragement for the Current Difficult Situation in Eretz Yisroel The Gemara in Berachos (59a) teaches: ‫אמר ר' אלכסנדרי אמר ר' יהושע בן לוי לא נבראו רעמים אלא כדי לפשוט עקמומית‬ ‫ – שבלב שנאמר והאלוקים עשה שייראו מלפניו‬Rabbi Alexandri said that Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said: Thunder was created only to impose fear and straighten the crookedness of the heart, as it is stated: “And G-d has so made it, that man should fear before Him” (Koheles 3:14). Like it says in the Gemara in Shabbos (31b): ‫אמר רב יהודה לא ברא הקדוש ברוך הוא את עולמו אלא כדי שייראו מלפניו שנאמַ ר‬ ‫ והאֹלקים עשה שייראו מלפניו‬- Rav Yehuda said: Hakodosh Boruch Hu, only created His world so that people would fear before Him, as it is stated: “And G-d has so made it that man should fear before Him” (Koheles 3:14). Like it says in the pasuk: ‫לא בגבורת הסוס יחפץ לא בשוקי האיש ירצה‬ ‫ רוצה ה׳ את יראיו את המיחלים לחסדו‬- “He does not prize the strength of horses, nor value the fleetness of men; but Hashem values those who fear Him, those who depend on His faithful care” (Tehillim 147:10-11). If we accept Hashem as our King than everything will be good, if chas vesholam we don’t, then we will experience the pasuk: ‫ובחמה שפוכה אמלוך עליכם‬- “with overflowing fury Hashem will rule over us” (Yechezkel 20:33), and Hashem will have to do things to show that He is in ch
