He told the Jews that Zachor had been included so they might strive to find that in Shabbos, as it says, “Whoever is obligated in shemira, is obligated in zechira.” We will find in Shabbos what we look for, and if we know how special it is, we have a better chance of finding that beauty, light, holiness, and joy. He says that when Hashem said the 4th declaration/commandment, the people heard the word, “Shamor,” as it is recorded in this week’s parsha, but Moshe, himself, heard “Zachor,” the way it is recorded in Parshas Yisro. Moshe, though, whose soul resonated at a higher frequency, was able to perceive the inherent holiness of Shabbos and therefore he heard, “Zachor,” which refers to the positive commandments, the sanctity, and enjoyment of Shabbos. WE MUST ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PERIOD OF UPHEAVAL ORIGINATES FROM THE SAME SOURCE OF ALL OUR TROUBLES: THE LACK OF THE BAIS HAMIKDASH AS HASHEM’S DWELLING PLACE IN OUR MIDST AND HIS EXPULSION, AS IT WERE, FROM HIS HOME. HIS REASON WAS TO INSTILL IN PEOPLE’S HEARTS THE UNDERSTANDING AND ACCEPTANCE THAT THE EVIL FATE BEFALLING THEM CAME FROM HEAVEN AND WAS A PART OF THEIR FAILURE TO REBUILD THE BAIS HAMIKDASH THROUGH THEIR MERITS. This Shabbos is referred to as Shabbos Nachamu, the "Shabbos of Solace", based on the introductory words of the Haftorah, ‘Nachamu Nachamu Ami/Be Comforted, Be Comforted, My nation (Yeshaya 40:1). R’ DON YITZCHAK ABARBANEL, THE GREAT TORAH COMMENTATOR, KABBALIST, AND STATESMAN IN THE COURT OF FERDINAND AND ISABELLA, CONVINCED THE KING TO ISSUE THE DATE OF THE EXPULSION AS TISHA B’AV. Her ten-year old brother saw her crying and mockingly asked, "Why don't you ask G-d to fix your doll?" The girl's face brightened and with a resolute step she went into her room to pray. Shema Yisrael Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad (Devarim 6:4) The last letter (Ayin) of the word for Shema is written larger than the rest and so is the last letter, Daled, of the word Echad. For example, if one would read the Shema as having an Aleph as its last letter (after all the Aleph and Ayin are both silent letters), the word Shema would mean "perhaps" (sheh- mah).
