B”H 1st day Succos 5787 INCENSE SUCCAH and LOVE A FELLOW JEW When the Alter Rebbe was in Mezritch for the first time, he heard a teaching from his Rebbe the Maggid, who in turn had heard it from the Baal Shem Tov. From the cloud of incense in the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur is drawn down the schach of the succah. Regarding the schach, it is written, “I love all of you, declares Hashem.” The Maggid amended the statement to read, “ love a Jew.” From that time on, the Alter Rebbe changed his approach to fellow Jews.
