Once, after a farbrengen, R’ Nota passed by R’ Yitzchak’s house, banged on his window, and said, “Yitzchak, I wouldn’t switch being able to say ‫( אין סוף‬how Hashem is limitless) even once for all of your wealth!” ‫לע"נ הרה"ת ר' יוסף יצחק ב"ר אשר ז"ל‬ I am nothing.” In a separate incident, once while davening R’ Nota got so deeply involved in his meditations that he davened Shacharis for almost two days, completely unaware of the world around him as he kept davening (the same Shacharis) until Mincha on the following day! After he arrived, as the Chassidim were arranging a place for him, the Tzemach Tzedek commented, “R’ Nota doesn’t take up any space; he is Ayin (nothing).” The Tzemach Tzedek was making a reference to R’ Nota’s unique self nullification. When R’ Nota finished his very, very long Shacharis he said, “Ay, ay, a late Mincha.” R’ Nota didn’t realize that he had missed Mincha and Mariv the day before (not to mention breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and Shacharis of that day! B"H ‫ספורי‬ R' NOTA'S DAYLONG ‫חסידים‬ SHACHRIS As told in the sefer Reshimos Dvarim: R’ Nota from Malastirtzina was a Chassid of the Mittler Rebbe and a Mekushar to the Tzemach Tzedek as well. One time, when R’ Nota was in Lubavitch during the times of the Tzemach Tzedek, the Chassidim arranged a farbrengen for the guests. These men ended up waiting for R’ Nota from midday (on the second day) until he finally finished davening, around Mincha time. Known for his dveykus, R’ Nota would often “lose himself” in his davening as he meditated on deep Chassidic concepts. This R’ Yitzchak gave a lot of Tzedakah, particularly helping out Jews who had issues with blood libels. R’ Nota then turned to those sitting next to him and said, “Did you hear what the Rebbe said about me?
