The Parsha opens: There is a connecting thread between the Maftir and the ‫וַ יַּקְ הֵ ל מ ֹׁשֶ ה אֶ ת כּ ָל עֲדַ ת בְ ּ נֵי יִ שְׂ רָ אֵ ל וַ יּ ֹאמֶ ר אֲ לֵהֶ ם אֵ לּ ֶה הַ ְדּ בָ ִרים‬ Parsha, centered on the significance of Rosh Chodesh Nissan ‫א ֲׁשֶ ר צִ וָּה ה' לַ עֲשׂ ֹת א ֹתָ ם׃‬ itself. Our tefillin, however, In Kedoshim, Chazal tell us, Hakadosh Baruch Hu revisited contain words of praise for Hakadosh Baruch Hu, including the Aseret Hadibrot – the Ten Commandments – this time in the parsha of ‫שְ מַ ע יִ שְׂ רָ אֵ ל ה' אֱ ל ֹקֵ ינוּ ה' אֶ חָ ד‬.ׁ the plural. The '‫וַ יּ ֹאמֶ ר מ ֹׁשֶ ה אֶ ל כּ ָל עֲדַ ת בְ ּ נֵי יִ שְׂ רָ אֵ ל לֵאמ ֹר זֶה הַ דָּ בָ ר א ֲׁשֶ ר צִ וָּה ה‬ previous year's events had included the sin of Cheit HaEigel '‫לֵאמ ֹר׃ קְ חוּ מֵ אִ תְּ כֶם תְּ רוּמָ ה לַה' כּ ֹל נ ְִדיב לִ בּ ו ֹ יְבִ יאֶ הָ אֵ ת תְּ רוּמַ ת ה‬ on the seventeenth of Tammuz, Moshe Rabbeinu ascending :‫זָהָ ב וָ כֶסֶ ף וּנְ ח ֹׁשֶ ת‬ twice more to seek atonement, and his return on Yom Kippur ָ ֶ‫סָ לַחְ תִּ י כִּ ְדבָ ר‬. When Hakadosh Baruch Hu tells Moshe to place the blood on the mezuzot and the mashkof, Chazal explain: the mezuzot In Kedoshim, compare the language of each commandment: correspond to Moshe and Aharon, and the mashkof to At Har Sinai: ‫ – ל ֹא יִהְ יֶה לְ ךָ אֱ ל ֹהִ ים אֲחֵ ִרים‬You shall have no other Hakadosh Baruch Hu. If he ,‫ עֲשֵׂ ה לְ ָך קְ הִ לּ ו ֹת גְ ּ דו ֹלו ֹת‬,‫ אָ מַ ר הַ קָּ דו ֹׁש בָּ רו ְּך הוּא‬,‫אֶ לּ ָא ז ֹאת בִ ּ לְ בַ ד‬ announces openly that this meeting is a fundraiser, most ‫ כְּ דֵ י ׁשֶ יִּלְ מְ דוּ מִ מְּ ָך דּ ו ֹרו ֹת הַ בָּ אִ ים‬,‫ו ְּדר ֹׁש לִ פְ נֵיהֶ ם בָּ רַ בִ ּ ים הִ לְ כו ֹת ׁשַ בָּ ת‬ people simply do not come. ‫ מ ֹׁשֶ ה תִּ קֵּ ן לָהֶ ם לְ יִ שְׂ ר
