'‫ויבטחו בך יודעי שמך כי לא עזבת דרשיך ה‬ www.HalachaForToday.com ‫בס'ד‬ Halachos for Monday, December 20, 2021 1) It is prohibited to listen/accept Lashon Hara even in situations where it is clear to the one listening that what is being related is absolutely true. Even if the person it is being related about has the status of a Rasha (such as someone who is a Mumar L’teavon, one about whom it is commonly known and established that he does not keep kosher, though he does so for his enjoyment, and not rebelliously) so long as he retains his status as a Yisroel, you may not listen/accept Lashon Hara about him. he has stooped to the level of transgressing the Torah L’hachis, in a rebellious fashion, and not due to his being unable to overcome his Yetzer Hara for enjoyment) you may not listen/accept this information as fact unless and until it has been established as such in a Bais Din. Halachos for Wednesday, December 22, 2021 1) It is forbidden to listen/accept Lashon Hara even if one hears the same information from 2 or more people, as the Halacha of “Eidim, witnesses” only applies to information related as testimony in front of a Bais Din, and has no halachic bearing outside of a Bais Din. 2) Even if the one relating the negative information is someone who is trustworthy, and has the status of “2 witnesses” , it is still forbidden to listen/accept the Lashon Hara from them Halachos for Thursday, December 23, 2021 1) If one relates something negative about an individual, in the presence of that individual, it is forbidden to listen/believe the information, even if the one it is being related about remains silent, and thus it seems to indicate that he is admitting to the negative information. 2) Even if this particular individual is the type that usually would not remain silent, rather his personality is to stand up for himself and deny the information being related about him, still it is prohibited to listen/accept the informa
