From the requirement to remain in the Beis HaMikdosh even if a close relative has died, the Gemara (Zevachim 99a) derives that the Kohen Gadol is permitted to continue serving there even at a time when he is legally classified as an ‫ אונן‬- somebody whose close family member has died and has not yet been buried - even though other Kohanim are not permitted to perform the Divine Service in such situations. Some Free Financial Advice In this week’s parsha we have the pasuk: “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely remove the corners of your field as you reap and you shall not gather the gleanings of your harvest; for the poor and the proselyte shall you leave them, I am Hashem, your G-d.” (Vayikra 23:22) The halachah is that when a person harvests his field, he is bound by three mitzvas aseh, called leket, shikcha, and peah.
