Apr 28, 2023 ) Confidence with Humility Statement: In this week’s parasha[1], the Torah relates a special law regarding fruit-bearing trees, it states: ‫ וְ כִי־תָ ב ֹאוּ אֶל־הָָארֶ ץ‬When you come to the land, ...‫ וּנְטַ עְתֶּ ם כָּל־עֵץ מַ אֲ כָל‬and you plant any food tree... Question: Why does this pasuk use this strange and unusual phraseology of “ ‘‫ הִלּוּלִים לַה‬- a praise to HaShem”, rather than the usual, '' '‫ ק ֹדֶ שׁ לַה‬- Holy to HaShem'' as we do later in parashas Bechukosai?[2] As it says: ‫וְ כָל־מַ עְ שַׂר הָָארֶ ץ‬ Any tithe of the land, ‫מִ זּ ֶַרע הָָארֶ ץ‬ [whether it be] from the seed of the land ‫מִ פְּרִ י הָ עֵץ‬ [or] from the fruit of the tree, ‫לַה' הוּא‬ it is HaShem’s :'‫ק ֹדֶ שׁ לַה‬ It is holy to the Lord. ————————————‫———————————————————————————————— דברי שאגתי‬RebbeG@gmail.com—————————— “According to the Shulchan Aruch HaRav: One who does not innovate their “Supernal beings come to hear the novellae of Torah from those who dwell in Torah learning and merely reviews, even 101 times, has not fulfilled his this lower world . And despite all the hardships, pogroms and persecution that we have endured, we are thankful that we carry the banner of the “Chosen People.” The beauty of this national identity is proclaimed to a Jewish boy through these meaningful customs through which they are taught to wear a Kippah and Tzitzis, and trained to recite blessings and the reading of Shema. Reb Aharon of Karlin, one of the early Hasidic masters, reportedly said, "There is no mitzvah to be joyous, but ‫ שִׂ מְ חָ ה‬can bring on the greatest mitzvos." It is also true, he said, that "it is not a sin to have ‫עַ צְ בוּת‬- sad, but sadness can bring about the greatest sins." A person who is sad (and possibly worse - depressed), is doubly affected.
