For additional sponsorship opportunities, or questions on the project, email me at lessonsinlikutaytorah@gmail.com 3 LESSONS IN LIKUTAY TORAH Likutay Torah ‫לִ קּ וּ טֵ י תּ וֹ ָרה‬ ַׁ ַׁ‫פ ָָּּרשַׁת נִצָּבִ יםַַׁׁ–ַַׁׁרֹאשַׁהשָּ נָּה‬ ‫מַ אֲ מָ ר‬ ַׁ 1 ַָּׁ‫כִַׁיַׁקָּ רוַֹׁ בַׁאֵ לֶ יך‬ ַׁ '‫ַדף מ"ו עַ מוד א‬ “Our Ability to Renew Creation” )‫ (א‬Chapter 1 In Parshas Nitzavim, Moshe Rabeinu tells the Jewish People that the fulfillment of the Torah and Mitzos is very accessible and doable. Then, he will apply the verses to our service of Hashem on Rosh Hashanah, which is always in the week following Parshas Nitzavim: ‫"[כִּ י הַ מִּ צְ וָה הַ זֹּא ת אֲשֶׁ ר אָ נֹּכִּ י מְ צַוְ ָך הַ יוֹּם ל ֹּא נִּפְ לֵאת‬ “For this mitzvah that I (Hashem) ַׁ ‫כִ יַׁ קָּ רוֹ בַׁ אֵ לֶי ָּך‬...]‫הִּ וא מִּ מְ ָך וְ ל ֹּא ְרחֹּקָ ה הִּ וא‬ command you today, it is not ‘‫נִּ פְ לֵאת‬-removed’ or ‘‫ ְרחֹּקָ ה‬-far’ 2 "'ֹ‫ה ָּדבָּ רַׁ מְ אֹדַׁ בְ פִ י ָּךַׁ [ובִּ לְ בָבְ ָך לַעֲשֹּתוֹּ ] וְ גו‬ from you, rather it is very :)‫יד‬-‫ יא‬,‫(פָרָ שָ תֵ נו ל‬ accessible to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to do it.” (Devarim 30:11-14) ‫לְ הָ בִּ ין כֶׁ פֶׁ ל הַ לָשוֹּ ן בְ מַ ה שֶׁ נֶׁאֱ מַ ר תְ חִּ לָ ה‬ To understand this verse, we first "‫"לֹאַׁ נִ פְ לֵאת הִּ יא מִּ מְ ךָ וְ ל ֹאַׁרְ חוַֹׁ קָּ הַַׁׁהִּ יא‬ need to understand the double expression, “It is not ‘‫נִ פְ לֵ את‬- .)‫ יא‬,‫(פָרָ שָ תֵ נו ל‬ removed’ or ‘ַׁ‫ ְרחֹקָּ ה‬-far’ from you.” .)‫ שַ בָ ת שֶׁ קוֹּדֶׁ ם רֹּאש הַ שָ נָ ה תקס"ד‬,‫ כ"ג אֱלול תקס"ג‬,‫ (נֶׁאֱ מַ ר שַ בָת פָרָ שַ ת נִּצָבִּ ים‬1 .]" ַֹׁ‫ א' ["אֵ ימָ תַ י קָּ רוֹ בַׁאֵ לֶיךַָּׁ ? ָ‫ ּפרשה [מ"]ז ["שֶׁ תְ הֵ א יָגֵעַ בָהֶׁ ם בְ פִּ יך‬,‫ כִּ י ִת ּשא‬:‫ַרבּ וֹ ת‬ .)‫ ּפֶּ ֶּרק י"ד‬,'‫ ֵחלֶּ ק ב‬.‫ ּפֶּ ֶּרק כ"ז‬,'‫ ֵחלֶּ ק
