They would not finish this blessing with the words ‫ָ וְהָ ׁשֵּ ב אֶ ת הָ עֲבֹודָ ה לִּ ְדבִּ יר בֵּ יתֶ ֶֽ ך‬ (and restore the service to the Holy of Holies in Your abode), ‫וְתֶ חֱזֶ ֶֽינָה עֵּ ינֵּ ֶֽינּו בְ ׁשּובְ ָך לְ צִּ ּיֹון‬ ‫( בְ רַ חֲמִּ ים‬And may our eyes behold Your merciful return to Zion) or ‫הַ מַ חֲזִּ יר ׁשְ כִּ ינָ תֹו לְ צִּ ּיֹון‬ (Who returns His Presence to Tziyon) since the Beit HaMikdash was standing at that time. Instead, they would use words like ‫( בָ רּוְך הַ מְ קַ בֵּ ל עֲ בֹודַ ת עַ מֹו יִּשְ רָ אֵּ ל בְ רָ צֹון‬blessed… Who receives the prayers of the Jewish people with grace) or ‫ׁשֶ אֹותְ ָך לְ בַ ְדָך בְ י ְִּראָ ה נַעֲ בֹד‬ (Whom you alone we serve with awe).
