Yom HaKippur Avodah of Yom Kippur Outline Insights into the Avodah Kohen Gadol Lots One Upwards and Seven Times Downwards The Se’ri HaMishtalei’ach Azazel Number of Korbanos The Kohen Gadol’s Rope Baal haTurim www.parshapages.com Collection compiled hopefully for the elucidation of Torah For subscription to weekly emails send note to info@parshapages.com ORDER OF THE AVODA OF THE KOHEN GODOL ON YOM KIIPPUR AMITZ COAH AND ATOH CONANTOH Based on larger work of Reuven Brauner The poetic “Amitz Coah” (used by Nusach Ashkenaz) and the more detailed “Atoh Conantoh” (adopted by Nusach ‘Sfard’) found in the Musaf service in the Yom Kippur Machzor are the most well-known renditions of the order of the Avoda of the Kohen Godol on Yom Kippur. “Amitz Coah” and “Atoh Conantoh” are only two of the many (up to thirty) different “Seder Avodos” which were composed for the Yom Kippur service over the generations. Among others, the French, Roman and Romanian Nuschaos had other versions (see the very comprehensive Yom Kippur Machzor by Dr. Daniel Goldschmidt for a discussion of this matter).
