The Gemara in Succah (42b) brings in the name of Rabbah the reason for the above, the reason he says is: ‫“ – גזרה שמא יטלנו בידו וילך אצל בקי ללמוד ויעבירנו ארבע אמות ברשות הרבים‬a decree lest he take it (the lulav, Megillah or shofar) in his hand to an expert to learn how to use it and come to carry it four amos in the public domain (on Shabbos and transgress on the melachah of hotza’ah)”. Perhaps only by lulav when the Torah writes ‫ ולקחתם לכם‬and the berachah is ‫על נטילת‬ ‫לולב‬, a different loshan to the pasuk will one get confused and go to a Rov, by matzah however, the Torah says ‫ בערב תאכלו מצות‬and the berachah is ‫על אכילת מצה‬, the same loshan as the Torah, there is no room for confusion and one won’t have a need to go to a Rov. Saying ‫ ויהי נועם‬on motzei Shabbos HaGadol The Tur (Orach Chaim 295) quotes Rav Sar Shalom who lays down the guiding principle for when to say ‫ ויהי נועם‬on motzei Shabbos and for when not to: “We only say ‫ ויהי נועם‬when motzei Shabbos leads into a weekday (not a Yom Tov), but not when motzei Yom Tov or even when a Yom Tov or Yom Kippur falls out in the middle of the week. The Pri Megodim (Orach Chaim, MZ, note 2) and Levush (268) write that we should still say ‫ויהי‬ ‫ נועם‬because the prohibition against work is only derabonon (see Pri Chodosh 268:1) and according to all, it is permissible to do work necessary for Yom Tov preparations. Moreover, the Gemara in Pesochim (108b) says: ‫ שתאן חי ידי יין יצא ידי חירות לא יצא‬- “If one drinks (for daled kosos) undiluted wine, he fulfils the obligation of drinking wine, but he hasn’t fulfilled the obligation of drinking it derech cheirus [freely]”. Eating matzah on Shabbos When Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbos we don’t blow shofar (Rosh Hashanah 29b), when Succos falls on Shabbos we don’t take the lulav and esrog (Succah 42b), similarly when Purim falls on Shabbos we don’t lein Megillah on Shabbos (Megillah 4b). 2, 13:2) quotes R’ Yitzchok Yeruchom Diskin who answers, the quantity of matzah required is a kezayis [size of an olive], whereas the minimum for transgressing the prohibition of carr
