שיעורי ביטחון: הצמח צדק וכוח המחשבה

מושג הביטחון בה' ככלי רב-עוצמה לעבודה רוחנית

"Think Good — and It Will Be Good"

These famous words were spoken by the Tzemach Tzedek to a chassid whose child was dangerously ill. The chassid came in despair, begging for a blessing. The Rebbe replied: "Tracht gut — vet zain gut" ("Think good — and it will be good"). This is not mere consolation — it is a profound principle of bitachon. Sincere, unwavering confidence in Hashem's help can physically change reality, transforming a harsh decree into mercy. When a Jew wholeheartedly relies on G-d, he creates a spiritual "vessel" capable of containing the greatest blessings. The chassid's child recovered — and this story became one of the most well-known lessons of Chassidism about the power of faith and positive thought.

Steadfastness in Petersburg

In 1843, the Russian government convened a conference in Petersburg whose goal was to impose secular education on Jewish communities and undermine the traditional system of Torah study. The maskilim (proponents of "enlightenment") actively supported these reforms. The Tzemach Tzedek was arrested twenty-two times for his unyielding stance. He declared to the ministers: "Only Hashem governs His servants... I will not change a single letter of our tradition." His steadfastness halted the destructive reforms and preserved Jewish education for future generations. This episode teaches us: when a person fully relies on G-d, external barriers lose their power. Bitachon is not passive waiting but an active spiritual stance capable of changing the course of history.
