תסמונת החיקוי: למה הניסיון "להיות כמו כולם" מוביל לאסון
השאיפה להיטמע מובילה לאובדן הזהות

False Acceptance
In his letters, the Rebbe returned again and again to one of the most painful illusions of the Jewish people: the belief that imitating the surrounding nations will bring acceptance and safety. History has proven the opposite time and again. Jews who tried to assimilate in Germany, Spain, and Russia — striving to become "more German than the Germans themselves" — not only failed to earn respect but aroused even greater antipathy. Imitation is a manifestation of weakness, and weakness never commands respect. On the contrary, other nations value and respect those who are loyal to their roots, their tradition, their uniqueness. When a Jew proudly wears a kippah, observes Shabbat, and openly lives by the Torah, he evokes genuine respect because he demonstrates inner strength and fidelity to principles. Assimilation, by contrast, is spiritual suicide disguised as "progress" and "integration."
The Source of Strength
The secret of the Jewish people's survival over millennia is one and the same: unwavering loyalty to the Torah. When Jews departed from their roots, they lost not only their spiritual identity but also their physical safety. When they returned, they gained a strength impossible by ordinary logic. "A nation dwelling alone" is not a curse but a blessing and a mission. Our uniqueness is our strength. The Rebbe emphasized: true progress for a Jew lies not in following the crowd but in loyalty to eternal values. The Torah is not an "ancient relic" but a living source of wisdom, as relevant today as it was three thousand years ago. Every Jew is called to be a bearer of light, not a reflection of others' ideas. Be who G-d created you to be — a Jew, proud of your heritage, faithful to your mission, carrying the light of Torah into the world. It is in this faithfulness that the key to genuine respect, safety, and prosperity is found.
