Many mistakenly believe that the highest degree of faith is to throw yourself into fire expecting God to save you. The sources call this not trust, but criminal testing of God.

The Lesson of the Prophet Samuel

Even the great prophet Samuel, upon receiving a direct instruction from God to anoint a new king, exercised caution, fearing the vengeance of King Saul. God did not rebuke him for disbelief but, on the contrary, gave him advice on how to conceal his actions. This proves that caution does not contradict trust — it is a human obligation.

The Line Between Faith and Madness

One who deliberately takes unjustified risks — drinking poison or fighting a predator without need — rebels against the will of the Creator, Who commanded us to preserve our lives. If such a person perishes, they will answer for their death as a suicide, despite their "pious" justifications. True trust is doing everything possible within nature, knowing that the outcome is still with God.
